  • 2013 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Service Award

    Dr. William B. Davis, SMB Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies, and Dr. Mary Sanchez-Lanier, Associate Dean of the WSU University College and Clinical Associate Professor in SMB, were both, independently, nominated for the 2013 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Service Award.  This award recognizes an individual from Washington State University who has made an extraordinary contribution toward continuing the work of Dr. King by promoting human rights and social justice through the advancement of diversity, including notable achievements in creating a supportive climate for underrepresented groups as well as recruiting, mentoring, and retaining diverse populations.

  • Samuel H. and Patricia W. Smith Teaching and Learning Grant

    Julie Stanton has received the Samuel H. and Patricia W. Smith Teaching and Learning Grant from the University College for work on The Metacognitive Regulation and Student Performance in a Large Introductory Biology Course.

  • Carl G. Hartmann Award and the SSR Research Award

    Congratulations to Mike Griswold and Tom Spencer for receiving the 2013 Carl G. Hartmann Award and the SSR Research Award, respectively from the Society for the Study of Reproduction. The Carl G. Hartmann Award, named for a distinguished reproductive biologist, is the Societys highest award.
